Fuzzzy Plate — Privacy Policy

Fuzzzy Plate is made by Fuzzy Core LLC ("we"). This page says what the app does with your information. Short version: your meals, your plan and your photos stay on your phone. A photo leaves the phone only to be read, and we do not keep it.

Last updated30 October 2026

What stays on your phone

  • Your plan answers: goal, sex, age, height, weight and activity.
  • Your daily calorie and nutrient targets.
  • Every meal you add, with its photo, name and numbers.
  • Your settings: skin, language and units.

We never receive these. Deleting the app deletes them.

What leaves your phone, and why

  • A plate photo or meal description, when you ask for a reading. It goes to our server (plate-api.fuzzzycore.com), which passes it to Google's Gemini AI to estimate the dish and its calories. Readings happen only on our server, and only for a phone with an active plan or pass. Our server does not store the photo or the description; it returns the answer and forgets them. Google processes the request under the Gemini API terms and may keep it for a limited time to detect abuse.
  • An anonymous phone ID. On first launch the app opens a session with our server under a random ID. It carries no name, email or phone number. We also note whether the phone is an iPhone or Android. It lets the server know which phone has a plan or a pass.
  • Your plan or pass status. On iPhone, when you subscribe or restore, the app sends Apple's signed proof of purchase to our server. We keep whether the plan is active, which plan it is, its trial and period dates, and Apple's transaction reference. If a purchase moves to a new phone through Restore, we keep a note of that move. On Android, when you buy a 1-week or 1-year pass on our web page, PayPal takes the payment. We keep the pass, its start and end dates, the amount, and PayPal's order and payment references. We do not receive your PayPal account details, name, email or address. All of this is tied to the anonymous ID.
  • A recovery code, if you ask for one (Android passes). It lets you move your pass to a new phone. We keep only a keyed fingerprint of the code, never the code itself, so we cannot show it again; showing a new code voids the old one. When a code is entered we count tries to stop guessing, and we note which pass moved to which anonymous ID. Anyone who has your code can move your pass, so keep it private.
  • A daily count of readings. We count how many plates each anonymous ID reads per day, to keep the service fair.
  • Your network address, briefly. Our server sees the address your phone connects from. To limit abuse we count new phones per address per day, keeping the address only as a keyed fingerprint. Our web server's logs record the network address, the time and the page asked for, for security, for a short time.

Payments

Apple handles payments on iPhone. On Android, payment happens on our web page through PayPal. We never see your card, your Apple ID, your PayPal login or your name. Card payment on the web page is temporarily unavailable.

What we do not do

  • No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing data for advertising.
  • No analytics or crash tools that send your data to third parties.
  • No account, email or sign-up.

Who processes data for us

  • Google (Gemini API) — reads the plate.
  • Apple — payments and subscriptions on iPhone.
  • PayPal — payments for passes on the web.
  • Cloudflare — carries traffic to our server.
  • Our hosting provider — runs our server in a data centre.

How long we keep it

  • Photos and descriptions: not kept by us.
  • Anonymous ID, plan and pass records, recovery code (fingerprint only) and daily counts: while the app is in use, and for as long as tax and accounting law requires for purchase records.
  • Server logs with network addresses: a short time, then deleted.

Your choices

  • You can read plates by describing the meal instead of sending a photo.
  • To ask us to delete what our server holds about your phone, email contact@fuzzzycore.com. Because the ID is anonymous we may not be able to tell which records are yours; we will help as far as we can.
  • Cancel an iPhone subscription in your App Store account settings. A web pass does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel.

Children

Fuzzzy Plate is not made for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Estimates, not medical advice

Readings are estimates. Fuzzzy Plate is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.
