What our applications do and do not do with your information.

The short version
Neither of our applications has an account. Neither sends your content anywhere. Everything you put into them stays on your device, and we never receive it — which also means we cannot recover it for you.
There is no analytics in our apps, no advertising, no crash reporting, no tracking identifier, and no profiling. We do not build a profile of you because we have nothing to build one from.
There is exactly one connection either app makes, it downloads typefaces, and it is described in full below. We would rather tell you about it than let you find it.
Who this covers
This policy is published by Fuzzy Core LLC, a company registered in Georgia and operating from Tbilisi. It covers the applications we publish — Fuzzzy Ink and Fuzzzy Music — and this website.
Because our applications hold no account and send us nothing, most of this policy is a description of what stays on your own device, so that you know what is there and how to remove it.
Fuzzzy Ink
Fuzzzy Ink encrypts and decrypts on your device. There is no server, no directory, no account and no messaging transport. You encrypt something, and you carry the result out yourself through whatever channel you choose.
What it keeps on your device:

Your password never leaves your device and we never get a copy, so nobody — including us — can recover your data if you forget it. That is a deliberate property of the design, not an oversight. With fingerprint or face unlock on, the password is kept in your device's secure store; turning that unlock off in the app (for the app lock and the vault) deletes it.
A few details we would rather state than have you discover. First, chat names, vault titles and tags are kept as readable text inside a database file that is not itself encrypted; they are protected by your operating system rather than by us. Second, exporting a chat archive, or opening a file from the vault, writes a temporary readable copy that is deleted when the export finishes or when you close the file — if the app is killed part-way through, that temporary file can be left behind.
Files you encrypt or decrypt are saved automatically, in a folder named after the chat. On Android that is Downloads / Fuzzzy Ink / the chat's name, where other apps with access to your files can see it, including the chat's name. On iPhone and iPad it is the app's own folder, visible in the Files app under On My iPhone › Fuzzzy Ink. On a Mac it is inside the app's own data folder. On Windows it is your Documents folder.
Fuzzzy Ink has no access to your contacts. A recipient is a name you type yourself, and it never leaves the app.
Fuzzzy Music
Fuzzzy Music plays audio files that are already on your device. It has no account, no streaming, and no connection to any music service.
With your permission it reads your music library so it can list your tracks. For each one it keeps the title, artist, album, genre, duration and file location, and it works out the musical key and tempo so the mixer can use them. Cover art is taken from inside your own files. None of this is sent anywhere — it stays on the phone, and we never see it.
It also remembers which track you played last and where you had reached in it, and it stores your playlists.
On Android, if you allow the app to save playlists in the open at Internal Storage / Fuzzy_Music, that folder belongs to you rather than to the app — so it stays on your device even if you uninstall the app. That is the point of the feature: your music stays yours and is easy to copy to a computer. You can delete the folder yourself at any time.
While music is playing, the app gives the track title, artist, album and cover art to your device's own media system, which is what puts controls on your lock screen and in your car. That information is handled by your operating system, not by us, and other apps on your device that can read media notifications can see it.
Fuzzzy Music cannot record audio. It has no microphone access of any kind.
The one connection our apps make
Both applications currently download their typefaces from Google's font service the first time they need them, and then keep them on your device.
That request tells Google your device's internet address and the ordinary technical details any web request carries. It contains none of your content — no messages, no files, no music, nothing you typed.

We are not comfortable with this and intend to bundle the typefaces into the apps so that no request is made on any platform. This page will be updated when that ships. We are describing it here in the meantime because a privacy policy that omitted it would be false.
Apart from this, neither application contacts us or anyone else. Neither contains analytics, advertising, crash reporting or attribution software of any kind.
Permissions, and why each one is asked for
Fuzzzy Ink:
- Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint — to unlock the app, checked entirely by your device.
- Storage on Android — to read the file you want to encrypt and to save the result where you can find it.
- Vibration on Android — lets the phone buzz briefly; it gives the app no information.
Fuzzzy Music:
- Your music library — to find the audio files on your device so it can list and play them.
- Storage, including all-files access on Android — to save playlists as real folders you can copy to a computer. If you decline, playlists are kept privately inside the app instead and everything still works.
- Background audio and a playback notification — so music keeps playing when the screen is off, with controls on your lock screen.
Neither app asks for your camera, your microphone, your location, your contacts or your calendar, and neither uses any advertising or tracking identifier.
What we receive
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to answer you and we keep it no longer than we need to. Please never send us a passphrase or the readable contents of anything private — we will never ask for one, and we cannot help you by having it.
This website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which keeps standard server logs including internet addresses, as any web host does. We do not add analytics, advertising or tracking to this site.
Children
Our applications are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since neither app collects anything from anyone, there is nothing we could hold about a child.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, export and erase information held about you. In our case the honest answer is that we hold nothing about you to access, correct, export or erase — there is no account, no server and no record.
Everything our applications keep is on your own device and under your control. Our account deletion page explains exactly how to remove it. If you have written to us by email, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.
Changes to this policy
If we change how an application handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it before the change ships.
